Stonefield @Kantine am Berghain, Berlin. June,2019.

It’s been about two years since I decided to dig more into concert photography. This year, a few months ago, I came to the point to experiment with color. And even though I think black and white is Kick Ass and I totally love it, four young ladies from Down Under called Stonefield inspired me tons to take color more seriously since May, when I saw and photographed them live for the first time at Desertfest Berlin (see pics here), where they rocked the city.

This four sisters in age from 20 to 28 came back to Berlin to play at Kantine am Berghain supported by Velvet Two Stripes, another band conformed by women: YES!

When you see Amy (drums and lead vocals), Hannah (lead guitar), Sarah (keyboards) and Holly (bass guitar) on stage, on pictures or walking around in a festival with their awesome 70’s inspired look, you won’t doubt for a second that they are sisters and have a band. On stage they have a heavy but soulful rock sound that kicks down every dude who would describe “girl band” as a “soft but motivated” band conformed by women. Or anyone who would put a “but” before saying Girl Band.

I am happy that this bands exists and having the opportunity to shoot them. Thank you Stonefield for the strength on stage and for providing inspiration 🙂
